Refund and Cancellation Policy
Repairing Expert aim to provide reliable, transparent and professional home-appliance repair, maintenance and installation services. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the terms applicable to service cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, advance payments, inspection/visit charges and repair-related payments.
By booking or purchasing a service from Repairing Expert, you acknowledge and agree to this policy, subject to any rights available to you under applicable law.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to services booked through:
- Our website;
- Telephone;
- WhatsApp;
- Email;
- Online enquiry forms;
- Direct communication with our service team; or
- Any other booking channel operated by Repairing Expert.
It may apply to refrigerator repair, washing machine repair, microwave repair, dishwasher repair, appliance installation, maintenance, AMC services and other services offered by us.
2. Service Booking Cancellation
You may request cancellation of a service appointment by contacting Repairing Expert as soon as possible.
We recommend cancelling or rescheduling at least 3 hour before the scheduled appointment.
If you cancel sufficiently in advance and no chargeable service has been performed, any eligible advance payment may be refunded according to this policy.
Where a technician has already been assigned or dispatched, cancellation may be subject to applicable visit, inspection, travel or other charges.
3. Cancellation Before Technician Dispatch
If you cancel your appointment before a technician has been dispatched and before any chargeable work has been performed, we will generally process an eligible refund of any advance payment after deducting any clearly disclosed non-refundable charges, if applicable.
Refund eligibility may depend on the service booked and the payment terms communicated at the time of booking.
4. Cancellation After Technician Dispatch
If you cancel after the technician has already been dispatched to your location, an inspection, visit or cancellation charge may apply.
This may include reasonable costs associated with:
- Technician travel;
- Appointment allocation;
- Inspection;
- Administrative processing; or
- Other costs already incurred for the appointment.
Any applicable charge should be communicated to you where reasonably practicable.
5. Cancellation After Technician Arrival
If the technician has arrived at the service location and the customer decides not to proceed with the service, a visit or inspection charge may apply.
If diagnostic or inspection work has already been performed, the applicable inspection/diagnostic charge may not be refundable.
Where the customer approves repair work and the repair process has started, cancellation may also be subject to charges for labour, parts or other work already performed.
6. Customer No-Show
An appointment may be treated as a no-show if:
- No authorized person is available at the service location;
- The technician cannot access the appliance;
- The customer cannot be reached using the provided contact details;
- Required building/property access has not been arranged; or
- The customer refuses access after the technician has arrived without reasonable justification.
A visit, cancellation or rescheduling charge may apply in such circumstances.
Customers should contact us as early as possible if they are unable to attend the appointment.
7. Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change.
Customers may request to reschedule an appointment by contacting us before the scheduled visit.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the requested date and time, subject to technician availability.
Repeated rescheduling, last-minute rescheduling or rescheduling after technician dispatch may be subject to applicable charges.
8. Refunds for Uncompleted Services
If Repairing Expert receives payment for a service that we subsequently cannot provide, we will generally offer a refund of the amount paid for the unprovided portion of the service, subject to:
- Any agreed deductions;
- Services already performed;
- Inspection or visit charges;
- Parts already ordered or supplied;
- Special materials already purchased;
- Third-party charges that cannot reasonably be recovered; and
- Applicable law.
Where only part of a service has been completed, any refund will generally relate only to the eligible unperformed portion.
9. Inspection and Diagnostic Charges
Some appliance problems cannot be accurately diagnosed without physical inspection.
Where an inspection or diagnostic fee has been communicated before the appointment, that fee may be payable even if the customer subsequently decides not to proceed with the repair.
The inspection/diagnostic charge is intended to cover the technician’s time, travel, inspection and diagnosis.
If we expressly advertise or communicate that a particular inspection fee will be waived upon approval of a repair, the applicable promotional or quotation terms will govern.
10. Repair Cancellation After Approval
Once a customer approves a repair and the technician begins chargeable work, cancellation may not qualify for a full refund.
Depending on the circumstances, the customer may be responsible for:
- Labour already performed;
- Inspection or diagnostic charges;
- Parts already installed;
- Parts specially procured for the customer;
- Consumable materials used; and
- Other charges expressly approved before the work began.
Any remaining eligible balance may be refunded after the applicable deductions.
11. Spare Parts and Special-Order Items
If a replacement part has been specifically purchased or ordered for your appliance at your request or with your approval, the amount paid for that part may be non-refundable where the supplier does not accept a return or where the part has been specially sourced for your appliance.
Where a part is returnable and a refund is available from the supplier, we may process the customer’s eligible refund after accounting for applicable charges.
The exact treatment of a part will depend on the circumstances and the terms communicated at the time of purchase or repair.
12. Incorrect or Incompatible Parts
If Repairing Expert supplies or installs a part that is found to be defective or incompatible due to an error attributable to us, we will take reasonable steps to rectify the issue, which may include replacement, repair or refund of the relevant amount, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
This does not apply to damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modification, external events or other circumstances outside our responsibility.
13. Refunds for Defective or Failed Repairs
If you experience a problem with the same repaired fault within an applicable service warranty period, please contact us promptly.
Where the service is covered by a valid warranty, we may first attempt to inspect and rectify the issue.
A refund is not automatically provided merely because an appliance develops another problem after a repair.
Different or unrelated faults may require a new diagnosis or separate charge.
14. Service Warranty and Refunds
A service warranty generally provides an opportunity for Repairing Expert to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify the covered issue.
Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing, a service warranty does not automatically create a right to a cash refund.
Where a refund is appropriate under the specific warranty or applicable law, it will be handled according to the relevant service terms.
15. Advance Payments
For certain services, parts or special appointments, we may request an advance payment.
The refundability of an advance payment will depend on:
- The service booked;
- Whether a technician has been dispatched;
- Whether inspection or repair has started;
- Whether parts have been purchased;
- The cancellation timing; and
- The specific terms communicated when the payment was made.
Any non-refundable component should be communicated to the customer where applicable.
16. Promotional Offers and Discounts
Promotional prices, coupons, discounts and special offers may be subject to additional terms.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- Discounts cannot be converted into cash;
- Promotional benefits may not be transferable;
- A refund may be calculated based on the amount actually paid rather than the original undiscounted price; and
- Promotional offers may have separate expiration or cancellation conditions.
17. AMC and Maintenance Plans
Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) or other maintenance plans may have separate cancellation and refund conditions.
Where an AMC has already commenced, the refund amount may depend on:
- The contract period;
- Number of services already provided;
- Services already scheduled;
- Parts or materials supplied;
- Any agreed cancellation terms; and
- Applicable law.
The specific AMC agreement or invoice will govern where it contains terms that differ from this general policy.
18. Customer-Initiated Refund Requests
To request a refund, contact Repairing Expert using the contact details provided below.
Please include:
- Customer name;
- Registered mobile number;
- Email address, if applicable;
- Booking or invoice number;
- Date of service/payment;
- Amount paid;
- Reason for the refund request; and
- Relevant supporting information or documents.
We may request additional information to verify the transaction.
19. Refund Review
Refund requests will be reviewed based on:
- The service booked;
- Payment records;
- Booking status;
- Technician attendance;
- Work performed;
- Parts supplied or installed;
- Applicable warranty;
- Cancellation timing;
- Communications between the customer and Repairing Expert; and
- Applicable law.
We will communicate the outcome of the refund request within a reasonable period.
20. Refund Processing Time
Once a refund is approved, we will initiate it using the original payment method where reasonably practicable.
The time required for the refund to appear in your account may depend on the payment gateway, bank, card issuer or other payment provider.
Repairing Expert is not responsible for delays caused solely by a bank, card issuer, payment gateway or other third-party financial institution.
21. Cash Payments
Where a payment was originally made in cash, any approved refund may be processed through a mutually agreed lawful payment method.
Additional verification may be required before processing a cash-payment refund.
22. Online Payments
Payments made through an online payment gateway may be subject to the payment gateway’s own terms and processing procedures.
Where a refund is approved by Repairing Expert, we will initiate the refund through the applicable payment channel where possible.
23. Duplicate Payments
If you accidentally make more than one payment for the same service, please notify us promptly.
After verifying the duplicate transaction, we will generally refund the verified duplicate amount, subject to applicable payment-processing procedures.
24. Failed Transactions
If your bank or payment provider shows a failed transaction but the amount has been temporarily debited from your account, the amount may be automatically reversed by the payment provider.
If the amount does not return within the applicable banking/payment-provider timeframe, please contact us with the transaction details so we can investigate.
25. Customer Disputes and Chargebacks
If you believe a transaction is incorrect, please contact Repairing Expert before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback where reasonably possible.
We will review the matter and attempt to resolve legitimate concerns promptly.
Nothing in this clause prevents you from exercising any legal or statutory rights available to you.
26. Refunds for Website or Service Information
Information displayed on the Website, including service descriptions, prices and promotional information, may change from time to time.
A customer will generally be entitled only to the refund or remedy applicable to the specific transaction or service purchased, subject to applicable law.
27. Refund Exclusions
A refund may not be available, to the extent permitted by law, where:
- The requested service has already been fully completed;
- The customer has approved and received the agreed service;
- Labour has already been performed;
- Parts have already been installed;
- A specially ordered part cannot be returned;
- The customer supplied incorrect information that materially affected the service;
- The customer caused damage after the service;
- The customer or another third party performed unauthorized repairs;
- A cancellation occurs after substantial service costs have already been incurred; or
- The relevant amount represents a disclosed inspection, visit or other completed service.
These exclusions do not limit any mandatory refund, warranty or consumer rights provided by applicable law.
28. Our Cancellation Rights
Repairing Expert may cancel or reschedule an appointment where reasonably necessary, including where:
- No suitable technician is available;
- The required spare part is unavailable;
- The appliance is unsafe to service;
- The service location is inaccessible;
- The requested work is outside our service capability;
- Severe weather or other circumstances prevent safe travel;
- A security or safety issue exists; or
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control affect service delivery.
If we cancel a service before it is performed and you have paid an amount that is refundable, we will generally provide an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement.
29. Refunds Where We Cannot Complete the Service
If Repairing Expert determines after inspection that an appliance cannot reasonably or safely be repaired and no repair work is performed, any refund of amounts already paid will be determined according to the applicable inspection/diagnostic and service terms.
Any inspection or visit service already completed may remain chargeable where that charge was disclosed or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
30. Non-Refundable Services
Certain services or charges may be non-refundable once performed, including where applicable:
- Completed inspection;
- Completed diagnosis;
- Technician visit;
- Labour already performed;
- Special-order parts;
- Parts already installed;
- Emergency/priority service already dispatched; and
- Other charges expressly identified as non-refundable before purchase.
We will not use a “non-refundable” condition to remove any refund or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
31. Consumer Protection
Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any mandatory rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable Indian law.
If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory legal requirement will prevail to the extent of that conflict.
32. Changes to This Policy
Repairing Expert may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, payment procedures, business practices or applicable law.
The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
The policy applicable to a transaction will generally be the version communicated or applicable at the time of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
